The International Sommelier Guild recently recognized server Liza Ireland with a Level II status, after completing an intensive course assuring a thorough knowledge of grape varietals, world regions and the myriad of blended wines available.

The Beach Club Resort wins Award of Merit at the 2010 VIREB Commercial Building Awards |

The Beach Club Resort, the newest luxury resort hotel in the Oceanside area, is pleased to win the Award of Merit for Mixed Use (Commercial/Residential/Industrial) at the 2010 VIREB Commercial Building Awards gala held April 15, 2010 at Tigh-Na-Mara Resort.
The Beach Club Resort is proud to be amongst finalists and winners from various VIREB zones, including Comox Valley, Cowichan Valley, Parksville-Qualicum Beach, Port Alberni, the West Coast, and Nanaimo. Vice-Chair for VIREB’s 2010 Commercial Council Dave Hammond thought the quality of entries was outstanding. “The caliber of workmanship and design is setting a standard for Vancouver Island that would be the envy of any area in the country!”
To be eligible for nomination, the project had to have been completed between January 2, 2009 and December 31, 2009. The selections were made by a team of independent judges, chosen from the professional and development industries but not members of the Commercial Division.

The Beach Club Resort, the newest luxury resort hotel in the Oceanside area, is pleased to invite the local community to join us on Earth Day, April 22 as we raise awareness about the environment by hosting the “Footprints Towards Sustainability Project”.
The “Footprints Towards Sustainability Project” goals are to increase awareness with our guests and community regarding our “Green Initiatives” within the resort and to promote environmental sustainability. By working with our guests and the local community we want to promote the benefits of recycling; reduction of energy consumption; and ecosystem conservation.
Join the Beach Club Resort’s “Green Team” as we kick-off Earth Day with a pledge to support environmental sustainability. Pledge your commitment to protect the ocean and wildlife by not disturbing the ecosystem; educate visitors on the ways to enjoy nature; and pledge to take green steps in your home and work space each day.
For every five pledges that are completed, a golden sand dollar replica will be made by Dave and Doraine Carlson of Twin-Key on Salt Spring Island. These sand dollars will be used to create a public display at The Beach Club to remind guests and visitors alike that the Oceanside community supports sustainability.

Sean Norris moved from rural Ontario to Vancouver Island in search of new culinary experiences and the opportunity to explore the Island’s many outdoor activities. Sean brings to The Beach Club a passion for fresh, seasonal, local ingredients and is excited to join the team as their new Head Chef.
Re-locating from the lower mainland, Brian Dodd joins the culinary team as their new Food and Beverage Director. Brian brings over 35 years experience in the hospitality and service industry, with expertise in all areas of hotel, food service, catering management and gaming operations.
The Beach Club Resort is thrilled to have these two gentlemen join the team.
